Panorama Ginza North Alps

Multi-day

New to the alps for muti-day hike? This is the one you are looking for.

OVERVIEW

The Japanese North Alps starts from sea of Japan down to Kamikochi. This panorama Ginza route, Johnen mounain range in other words is one of the side ridges from the main spine of the alps. Mt. Tsubakuro, Otensho and Jonen are main peaks in this hike. You are above clouds if the weather condition is good.

Hiking up one of the steepest hill in the forest. Once we get out of the trees, our hut, Enzanso is nearly there with its nice view ahead. Depending on how you feel and weather, Mt. Tsubakuro with its unique form of the rocks is possible to be climbed on the day.

The trail is relatively mellow on day 2. We keep going above the tree line almost whole day. Yarigatake (which looks like sharp spear) is on your right hand side from Mt. Otensho. The view is spectacle if the weather is clear enough. We can see the trail we have walked on that day. Johnen goya hut is located in front of Mt. Jonen. Summiting Mt. Jonen is an option if we arrive at the hut earlier.

On the last day, we take a trail called Ichinosawa from Johnen goya. The trail is right by stream. The fresh cold water is drinkable and you can get in cold water at some point! From trail-end, we take a taxi to get back to Hodaka station.
